WELCOME HOME
WHAT IF YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO DO LIFE ALONE?
SOMETIMES WHAT WE’RE MISSING IS EACH OTHER.
Life was never meant to be lived alone. We need people who know us, encourage us, pray with us, laugh with us, and walk beside us through every season.
At Refuge, church feels like family. Come as you are, find your people, and discover what it means to be known, loved, and part of something bigger than yourself.
WHY PLAN A VISIT?
Walking into a new church for the first time can feel a little uncertain. Where do I go? Where do my kids check in? What should I expect?
Planning your visit simply lets us make your first Sunday a little easier.
One of our friendly hosts can meet you when you arrive, help you get settled, and answer any questions along the way. If you like, we can give you a quick tour, make a stop at the coffee bar, help you get the kids checked in, grab a free Bible if you need one, and introduce you to our pastors before or after service.
Nothing awkward. No spotlight. No pressure.
Just a friendly face, a little help getting settled, and one less thing to think about on your first Sunday.
Let us know you’re coming, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Other Questions, Answered
-
Nope. We’ll be glad you’re here, but we’re not going to put you on the spot. You won’t be asked to stand, introduce yourself, or do anything that makes you uncomfortable. Come in, find a seat, and make yourself at home.
-
Not at all. Whether church has been part of your life for years, it’s been a long time, or this is completely new to you, you’re welcome here. You don’t need to know the songs, understand all the terminology, or have your faith figured out before you walk through the door.
-
No. Giving is an act of worship for those who call Refuge home, not an expectation for our guests. If you’re visiting, we simply want you to experience the service and feel welcome.
-
Refuge is a Christian, Bible-centered church in Murrells Inlet and a member of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC).
That means our faith is rooted in Scripture, centered on Jesus, and shaped by a belief that the Holy Spirit is still active in the life of the Church today. We value meaningful worship, prayer, spiritual growth, authentic relationships, and putting faith into practice in everyday life.
You don’t need to come from a Pentecostal background, or any church background at all, to feel at home here. If you’re looking for a church where you can grow in your faith, ask honest questions, build real relationships, and follow Jesus alongside others, there’s a place for you at Refuge.
-
For us, being Pentecostal means we believe the Holy Spirit is active and present in the life of the Church today. We make room for prayer, spiritual gifts, and genuine encounters with God, but always in a way that is grounded in Scripture, thoughtful, and orderly.
If your picture of Pentecostal church comes from television, Refuge may feel different than you expect. Our services are relaxed and contemporary, not chaotic or performative. We believe the presence of the Spirit doesn’t need to be manufactured, and that worship can be both deeply spiritual and deeply grounded.
-
At Refuge, we believe the Bible is God’s Word, Jesus is our Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit is active today, and following Christ means growing in faith, loving others, and sharing the hope of the Gospel.
